FLOW

Find your purpose

Hakuba, Japan

9th - 16th March, 2025

Inspired by the Japanese Spirit and the concept of Ikigai, FLOW is your ticket to an epic adventure packed with culture, skiing, and self-discovery.

FLOW is a state of being where everything feels effortless and fully aligned. It’s the sweet spot where challenge meets skill, and you become completely immersed in the present moment. In flow, time seems to slow down or speed up, distractions fade away, and your energy feels boundless.

This powerful state isn’t just for athletes or creatives—it’s for anyone who wants to live a life of joy, purpose, and fulfilment.

This transformative journey is all about reconnecting with your purpose, pushing your personal limits, and forging deep connections with a community of like-minded adventurers.

With an unforgettable 8-day ski retreat at its heart plus a 4-week integration program, you’ll leave FLOW feeling inspired, aligned, and ready to live your most meaningful life.

Who is this for?

FLOW is for you if you’re:

  • Feeling stuck or ready for a shift in your career or life

*Note: this is open to people of all skiing abilities - beginners welcome & encouraged!

This isn’t your regular retreat - this is a transformational experience designed to help you find the clarity and flow you’re looking for in your life and career.

Matt Defina

Retreat Co-Lead, Founder - Another Way, Trained Psychologist

Matt is a transformational facilitator, coach, and trained Psychologist who has worked with and spoken to over 25,000 men and women globally about how to grow and evolve into the best version of themselves. While he started out as a corporate change management consultant at PwC, Matt quickly shifted into the social impact space and spent 5 years as Head of Programs, Impact & Research at Australian men’s mental health charity, The Man Cave.

In 2022, Matt endured a series of panic attacks, depression, anxiety and eventually burnout that forced him to look at his own life and work. After taking some time out and addressing his personal health and wellbeing, Matt founded Another Way and decided it was time to start helping other purpose-driven professionals create a meaningful life and career. Fuelled by the desire to challenge the status quo and unlock his own potential, Matt created Another Way because he saw how much people were struggling to balance achievement with fulfilment.

Matt has worked extensively with Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational interviewing and mindfulness and combines these tools to help his clients unlock their true potential. His journey has included summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro twice, trekking to Mt. Everest Base Camp, completing an Ironman Triathlon, skydiving, scuba diving with sharks and whales, completing a 10-day silent meditation retreat and participating in or leading over 30 transformational retreats worldwide. Matt also grew up skiing at Falls Creek and has skiied in the French and Austrian alps.

Caitlin Stanway

Retreat Co-Lead, Yoga Teacher, Writer, Founder - The Formative

Caitlin is a strategist, yoga teacher, writer, and traveler whose love for the mountains rivals only her connection to the sea. Challenging traditional notions of success, she’s spent her adult years exploring what it means to live a meaningful life. Her early career focused on building innovative startups, but witnessing wealth accumulate for a few, while communities struggled around her, led to a transition into the social impact space.

Caitlin founded The Formative in 2021 at the juncture of some big and challenging experiences: launching a tech-based social enterprise, consulting for non-profits and purpose-driven businesses, embarking on a Masters in Business & Social Impact, and delving into trauma-informed yoga teaching while managing her own journey with burnout. She needed to slow down but the urgency of our climate and social crisis felt too overwhelming, and too important to step away from.

As she navigated her situation, and started to see it reflected in the organisations and communities she was working with, Caitlin realised a crucial truth: no amount of strategy or expertise could drive meaningful change if individuals and teams were at their emotional and mental capacity. This realisation led her to radically rethink her approach to success and impact, placing wellbeing and resilience building at the forefront of her work.

Through her Embodied Impact™ methodology, Caitlin now helps executive teams, for-purpose leaders, and individuals rethink how we live and work—unlocking more joy, purpose, and equity for all.
