Culture Code

When you join Adventure Club, you’re not just signing up for adventures — you’re stepping into a community that values connection, respect, and care for the world around us.

These principles guide how we explore together, both out on the trail and in our online spaces.

  1. Respect All People

    1. Treat every member, guide, and partner with kindness, patience, and respect — no matter their age, gender, race, background, beliefs, or ability.

    2. Listen with curiosity, speak with care, and celebrate what makes us different.

    3. Zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, bullying, or unwanted romantic/sexual advances.

  2. Care for the Environment

    1. Leave nature as you found it — or better. Pack out your rubbish, protect plants and wildlife, and stick to marked trails when needed.

    2. Keep noise low and your impact light so others can enjoy the wild as much as we do.

    3. Respect the cultures and communities connected to the places we visit.

  3. Prioritise Safety

    1. Follow the guidance of your Adventure Guide or event leader — they’re here to keep everyone safe.

    2. Let us know about any injuries, illnesses, or limitations before we set out.

    3. Come prepared with the right gear and mindset for the day’s conditions.

    4. No reckless, dangerous, or illegal behaviour — safety is everyone’s responsibility.

  4. Contribute to the Community

    1. Make space for others — especially new faces — and help them feel part of the crew.

    2. Share the load, whether it’s carrying group gear, offering encouragement, or helping to shape future adventures.

    3. Communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully in person and online.

  5. Respect Boundaries

    1. Honour personal space and comfort levels — physically, emotionally, and socially.

    2. Always ask before taking or sharing someone’s photo.

    3. Support each other’s choices around pace, challenge, and participation.

  6. Be Responsible

    1. Own your actions, choices, and belongings.

    2. Alcohol and recreational drugs are not permitted on official club adventures.

    3. If you choose to drink at post-event socials, do so mindfully and respectfully.
